Alternative to UBsend

For companies in the Nordics and Europe shipping more than 100,000 parcels a year.
Last updated 06 August 2026.

UBsend is an Aarhus-based technology company that brings 30+ freight providers together behind a single API. That solves the integration problem — you avoid connecting to PostNord, DHL and GLS separately. It does not solve who owns the carrier agreements, who handles customs, or who you call when a pallet shipment to a retail chain gets stuck.

Homerunner is a single logistics service for companies shipping more than 100,000 parcels a year across the Nordics and Europe. Platform, carrier agreements, customs clearance and day-to-day operations are part of one agreement, so you can spend your time on the business instead of on the system. Add direct access to your live freight data through MCP services, and you stay ahead of the business at all times.

Five questions that decide whether a switch is worth it

UBsend is a technology layer on top of the freight providers. Companies use UBsend's network, but the individual carrier relationships and contract terms are not yours to negotiate or own.

Ask what happens to your freight price the day UBsend revises its terms.

The EU customs changes from 1 July 2026 have made correct HS codes and product data a requirement, not a detail, and the rules tighten further towards 2028. UBsend can add duties and VAT to international shipments.

That is not the same as a managed customs process. Ask who owns the compliance responsibility the day a shipment gets stuck.

UBsend handles parcels up to 20 kg. If you ship pallets, heavy goods or B2B orders to retail chains, you have a separate system, a separate supplier and a separate point of contact.

That is not one unified setup ... it is two.

UBsend has support on weekdays from 08:00 to 17:00. For companies shipping into a European market, logistics is not a nine-to-five problem. Ask what happens outside opening hours.

UBsend publishes no prices. The model is volume-based with variable fuel surcharges that are adjusted monthly. To know your total platform cost you have to talk to a salesperson and negotiate. Ask what your full price is, including surcharges.

This is what you get with Homerunner

Carrier agreements, platform and operations in one agreement
At Homerunner you are not buying a software licence and building the rest yourself. You get the platform, the carrier agreements and the day-to-day operations in the same agreement, with one invoice and one place to call.

One setup for every carrier
A multi-carrier network without having to negotiate, integrate and maintain every single carrier agreement yourself. We orchestrate across carriers in the Nordics and Europe, so you can switch, combine and add without a new integration project every time.

Customs and customs clearance as part of what is delivered
Cross-border is where logistics costs the most when it fails. At Homerunner customs clearance is part of what is delivered: documentation, DDP and DDU per market, and help when a shipment gets stuck in customs.

Parcels and pallets in the same flow
Parcels, pallets and groupage freight are handled in the same flow, with the same data and the same support. B2B and B2C do not need separate systems, and store replenishment runs alongside the customer orders.

Live freight data through MCP
Your freight data should work for you, not sit in a report. At Homerunner you can connect your own AI tools directly to live shipment data through MCP and ask freely: delivery quality per carrier, broken logistics chains, checkout setups that cost you conversion. The answer arrives while there is still time to act on it.

Click & Collect and parcel lockers
Delivery choice has become a competitive factor in checkout. We support Click & Collect to your own stores and delivery to parcel lockers, so your customers can choose the collection option that suits them without you having to build and maintain the integrations. You can also rent parcel lockers from us if you want your own for handovers.

Containers and imports
If you also bring goods in from Asia, Homerunner handles container transport from production to warehouse. That connects inbound and outbound logistics in one holistic setup instead of across two suppliers. From container to the customer's door, all handled in the same intuitive platform.

Support with product depth
Our support is built on a strong mix of people and AI. We monitor your shipments 24/7 to anticipate events that could disrupt delivery, and if something does happen, we send a notification to the recipient. If you have questions about parcels or setup, we are ready to help. You are never on your own with Homerunner.

What does switching take?

A system change has four phases, whichever system you are coming from. We start by mapping your current agreements and integrations. Then comes setting up the new flow alongside the old one. Next is a test period with both systems running to make sure everything works, and finally the move of your full volume.

Integrations to ERP and WMS are typically the heavy part, and we build that into the plan from day one. Our onboarding team makes sure you know the procedures thoroughly before we go live.

Moving to Homerunner can take from around 14 days and up, depending on complexity and any special agreements.

Frequently asked questions ...

It depends on what you actually need. UBsend solves carrier integration — one connection point to 30+ freight providers.

Companies shipping more than 100,000 parcels a year that need carrier agreements, customs, pallets and dedicated support in one contract should consider Homerunner.

Yes. But it is not just another integration layer. Homerunner is a managed logistics service: carrier agreements, customs clearance and day-to-day operations are part of the agreement, and you have one point of contact for the entire delivery — not a technology layer that connects you to suppliers you still have to handle yourself.

Homerunner is relevant for companies shipping more than 100,000 parcels a year that want a managed service rather than an integration product. Volume is not the deciding question; the question is whether you want to own the process yourself or have a partner who does.

Yes. Click & Collect to your own stores and delivery to parcel lockers are available as delivery options, alongside home delivery and parcel shops.

No, you do not have to. You can choose to use your own if they are better than the ones we have negotiated, or a mix of yours and ours.

With Homerunner you get access to our agreements, which are based on large volumes with the biggest carriers, and therefore a more attractive price.

Yes. Homerunner exposes your live shipment data through MCP, so you can use your own AI tools to monitor, analyse and optimise your setup without waiting for reports.
